Unlike the generalized courses that are offered at most schools, you have two different programs to choose from. One concentrates on drafting and design in the Architectural and Civil Engineering fields, and the other concentrates on drafting and design in the Mechanical and Electronic Engineering fields. In other words, you can specialize in either the development of buildings and building sites, or you can specialize in the development of products and the tools with which products are manufactured. This approach provides the time needed to arm you with the depth of skill and knowledge that qualifies you for the jobs that pay the most and offer the most advancement. It also provides the time needed for you to become a real "pro" with AutoCAD, which is the software used by almost all architectural and engineering firms. Depending on your personal needs and situation you attend classes either in the morning, afternoon, or evening. Morning and afternoon classes meet for 12 months and consist of 60 credit hours (1200 actual hours) of instruction. The attendance schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:40 PM or 12:50 PM to 6:00 PM. Evening classes meet for 18 months and consist of 48 credit hours (960 actual hours) of instruction. The attendance schedule is Monday through Wednesday from 6:05 PM to 10:40 PM. Classes begin in January, April, July, and October.
